Day 9

The Return of Hilltop Acres

Well as Saturday comes to a end, I would consider it a very productive day.  Leiah said the shop was buzzing with customers and I spent my day at Hilltop Acres, once again preparing for our Autumn Trunk Show.  Since Leiah was working, Adam was knocking a wall out in our house it was dad and I solo..well not quite I did bring Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Doo along, and Grandma cooked and entertained them.  Talking about Grandma, on her menu today we had chili, apple crisp, and stuffed peppers...fitting for the weather and very delicious..(I figured I better put that in there since I know she reads this).

We knocked out some amazing antique, vintage pieces and I'm super excited to show a few shots.  There were so many times we would be almost done and I would remember I forgot to snap a before.  Either way, I think I took enough to give you a preview of how awesome this show is going to be..  Don't forget, Sunday, October 7th, noon-4pm..  Cotton Candy, Face Painting, Isabelle the Pony, Canned Goods, Pies, Pumpkins & Gourds for sale..  Stop in at the store to pick up a brochure for directions and all important details..

This piece actually started out as a lamp side table but the lamp just couldn't be saved..it just had a bit too much  ugly to it, so we took it out filled the hole and now it's a cute side table, without the ugly lamp..

Vintage Mailbox perfect to set on a desk for mail

I couldn't capture the beautiful after color with my phone very well, but it was one of those pieces it's hard not to take home for myself.  I gave this antique dresser an amazing patina finish.. I was also reprimanded by my husband and dad I paid too much for this piece but after I was done and you could see the hand carving's in the wood it suddenly looked like a good deal..

This vintage dresser was in such great shape my dad just wanted to leave it as is..  Ummm, no dad  it 's a bit drabby so I gave it a Italian Olive rub down and it went from drab to fab!!

I love upcycling old trunks because they always have beautiful detail that can be brought out through distressing and they make great coffee tables and better storage.
