Day 3

Sunday Fun Day at Hilltop Acres

It’s like a movie, I wake, yawn, stretch, think how great that it’s Sunday, that one day of the week I get off.. (SCREACH)..  That’s when I remember for the next month, every Sunday is spent at Hilltop Acres, upcycling antique vintage furniture for our trunk show October 7th..  For those of you that don’t already know, Hilltop Acres is my parent’s property and Leiah and I have co-partnered with them for this grand event…
I pull in the driveway and see my dad patiently waiting (pretending to be patient since I’m late) sitting in a rocking chair in front of his shed….did I mention he has 10 pieces lined up waiting to be painted?  Before I even get out, he reminds me that in the brochure we've been handing out in the store, I wrote we would have "50 pieces" done for the show.. so he has graciously done the math, and today, I need to upcycle 10 pieces.  He treats it a bit like a sweat shop with one perk, my mom always makes these fabulous magazine cover meals to reward us for a job well done..

What part does each person play in this event?

Dad: Drill Sargent, vintage/antique furniture buyer, craftsman by trade
Leiah: Color pallet expert, novice at getting dirty, perfectionist
Laura: The go to girl, always does the finishing touches to each piece, photographer
Mom: Gourmet chef
Adam: (AKA Laura’s husband) entertains the children, we all know Adam does so much more but today he is just daycare staff

The combination of this group works, yes we fight but we also joke and laugh, we laugh a lot!!

We thought it would be fun to do some before and after shots and then some just after shots since I forgot the before. Don't forget pieces will be available to purchase Sunday October 7th, noon-4pm! Enjoy:
