Hilltop Acre Trunk Show
Guess where I spent my Sunday? Yeppers, you guessed it, the never ending story of Hilltop Acres continues. I actually arrived earlier than usual, so instead of being met by my dad with a tapping foot, I had two smiling faces waiting at the door:
After a wonderful breakfast of pancake crepes, bacon, and toast with a egg baked in the middle in didn't take my dad long to put me to work.
My first project of the day: two very homely in need of much TLC chairs
I immediately had my vision and knew exactly what I wanted to do with these two, give them a major face-lift!!
While I was at it, I decided to tackle a table to make it a set
How cute would this be on a front porch or in a kitchen nook!!
At this point I'm already in need to a snack so my mom whips up this homemade peanut butter cup, cookie, Oreo, brownie desert:
On to the next piece of furniture..looks like another bedroom set.. I actually knew this piece was coming up and was already prepared to finish it in a distressed almond
Next, one in which I was so excited to do..only because I was going to get creative and work with some bold colors..
Mint with ivory distressed handles and purple with apple green distressed handles.. These would be beyond adorable in a craft room on on a desk for organization or I guess even for jewelry on a dresser
Not once, but at least twice my dad said he wanted to add this to the burn pile. I convinced him of the potential and after some major sanding and a little renovation:
It's a big piece but I just have it pictured hanging on a entry wall for keys and all those sweet nothings or in a kitchen, bathroom.. To say the least my dad was happy I convinced him of my vision..
I'm thinking one more week and I'll have this furniture whipped but as we get closer to the bottom of the barrel, little treasures pop up here and there:
My parents have also starting picking the gourds out of the garden for the trunk show:
My mom never disappoints after a long day:
