Handmade DIY Coaster's
Coaster step by step guide just in time for all the Sunday DIY fans out there...Coasters are a perfect gift for holidays, birthdays, showers, housewarmings, treat for yourself or make it a family project.. Obviously we love the gift of handmade but something better is a gift to family & friends that you handmade!!

Step 1 Supplies: Brush, Jar/Cup of Water for Brush, 4 Tiles (can be purchased at Menards or most hardware stores by box or individual) , Glue Gun, Printed Images on Paper (make sure images aren't over 4X4) Felt, Scissors, Distressing Ink (I like to give my tiles a distressed look at the end but this is not a must supply)
Step 2 These images are from fabric swatch pictures I found online and then I just sized them in PowerPoint or Word (4X4) and printed them out. You can also print family images..be creative!
Step 3: In today's DIY, I'm just doing 4 coasters so cut out as many images as you have coasters.
Step 4 Mod Podge a thin layer on the entire tile
Step 5 Apply each image immediately after tile has been Mod Podged, if a corner isn't laying flat I will just brush a little Mod Podge in that area and press until the entire image is flat to the tile.
In-between tiles I always put my brush in water so it doesn't dry out. When I take it out I wipe it down with a paper towel so it's not saturated.
Step 6 Once all images are Mod Podged down you'll want to do another layer of the Mod Podge on the top of the image to protect it. I always brush the Mod Podge in the same brush stroke direction. Let dry for maybe 20 min and repeat this step so you have two layers on the top of the image..let it dry for an hour before going to the next step.
Step 7 Take a sheet of felt, cut out circles or squares to protect your tabletop . Hot glue 1felt circle to each corner of the tile.
Completed felt tile

Step 8 Once tile is completely dry, if you want more of a vintage look you can buy this distress pad at a craft store.. Run it across the edges and on the image.. (remember you can skip this step)
