Day 89 ~ Pinterest Treat- Marshmallow snack

Pinterest Treat
Marshmallow Dips

These are so easy and so delicious! Of course I had a little helper for these, her favorite part was dipping into the chocolate and then eating before it was finished. How cute to add to a gift of homemade Hot Coco? Instead of adding marshmallows on top of the hot coco, simply add this and stir!
You might even have everything on hand to make these little guys.

Ingredients ~
Large Marshmallows
Chocolate, I used semi-sweet
Candy Cane, crushed
Candy sprinkles, holiday colors
Sticks or straws

Gather up your ingredients and the straw/sticks. I had to crush my candy canes. I set them in a bowl for easy dipping, as well as the sprinkles. Lets be serious, that could get messy!
I melted the chocolate in a separate bowl, about half the bag since I only made about 12 marshmallow dips. I went in 20-30 second intervals, stirring in between each.

While the chocolate was melting away, I grabbed the sticks and poked them in to the marshmallows. Some would tip over, but once the chocolate was on they sticked to the foil.

First thing you do is dip the marshmallow in the chocolate, tap it on the side of the bowl to get some off, otherwise it will end up in your candy dishes and make a mess.

I had a helper who didn't think that was necessary! She kept dunking the marshmallow.

And again :) Clearly she loves chocolate.

Then dip away in your choice of candy!

Here is a close up of the peppermint candy cane. Yum! Can you imagine in the hot coco?!

I made some with just chocolate and no candy. Those were just as good!

Here is a simple homemade Hot Coco recipe. Mix this up and add it to a mason jar and put your marshmallow dips in a small bag and your gift is done!

 Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix
Yields 2 cups (about 8 servings)
Ingredients:
2 cups organic cane sugar
1 Tbsp vanilla powder
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup powdered milk
pinch of salt
Directions:
In a small mixing bowl, mix together the sugar and vanilla powder.  Transfer 1/2 cup of the vanilla sugar to a large bowl (save the remaining sugar for another use or to make another batch of cocoa).  Add powdered milk, cocoa and salt to the bowl with the sugar and mix well.
You can store the cocoa mixture in an airtight container or put in small mason jars for gift giving.
Making the hot cocoa:
Put 1/4 cup of the mix and 1 cup of boiling water into a mug and stir well.
