Day 67 ~ Salted Bark

Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark

I pinned this awhile back when my mouth started to water from the deliciousness in the picture. I'm so glad I did! This recipe is super easy and really fast. Thank goodness since I couldn't wait to try it out.

Ingredients :

~ Half a bag of mini pretzel twists
~ 2 sticks of butter
~ 1 cup of brown sugar
~ 1 bag of chocolate chips
~ table salt

 Directions :

Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees

Line a cooke sheet with foil and lay a layer of pretzels down.

I wasn't neat about this step!

Next, get your sticks of butter & measure out 1 cup of brown sugar.

Take a medium saucepan and melt the 2 sticks of butter. Add the brown sugar and stir until it is completely dissolved.

Boil gently until you get a smooth caramel.

Remove from the heat and pour over the pretzel. Don't worry about covering all the pretzels.

Put in the oven for 5 minutes!

Remove from the oven. You'll notice that most of the pretzels have been covered with caramel.

Sprinkle the chips on top of the caramel and pretzels. Spread the chips around with a spatula & sprinkle with salt. Then pop them in the freezer for a few hours.

When they come out of the freezer, break them up and put them in a nice storage container so you can keep them in the fridge. They will melt after sitting out for awhile, so best enjoyed right away :)
Enjoy!

Day 65 ~ Jean Cuff Roll

~Fashion Trend~
The Jean Cuff Roll

There was a good period of my young childhood where pinning, side zippers, and rolling jean cuffs was a very cool trend..  I do have hope the pinning  won't come back (knock on wood) but the jean cuff roll, definitely made a fashion trend appearance.
This just isn't for us girls, men are also catching on and showing off the sexy ankle..

Day 64 ~ DIY Chalkboard

DIY Saturday
Chalkboard

Supplies :

Unstained/painted cabinet door
Spray Paint- Color of your choice
Chalkboard paint
Brush
Plastic tarp
Chalk

First thing you want to do is make sure you have an empty space, like a garage, to lay your tarp down. You want to make sure you spread it out far enough so you don't get spray paint on anything else. Make sure the tarp is smooth, otherwise the sides will stick to the paint.

Then spray away :) Make sure to get the sides of the door as well as the inside groove. Spraying the inside, where the chalk paint will go, is just fine since it will be covered with the black chalk paint anyway!!

Let this dry for awhile. Then shake up your chalk paint and grab your brush, you're ready to chalk up the middle area! This will take awhile to dry, and most likely you will need at least 2 coats to get a good coverage. So if that is the case, just repeat once the first coat is dry.

Start of the chalk paint.

Coat 1

Coat 2. FOR EVER to dry :)

Once you are done spray painting and using the chalk paint and it is dry, take your white chalk and slate the surface. To do this, take your chalk and rub over the entire surface of the chalkboard paint. Then wipe off with a paper towel.

Your chalkboard is now ready to use :)

Hope this DIY was super easy and fun for you! Remember to share your pictures with us if you do any of the DIY's!! Have a great weekend!
