Day 97 ~ Creative Christmas Trees

~ Creative Christmas Trees ~

It's getting closer and closer to Christmas, most of you put up your tree right after Thanksgiving. Me on the other hand, not even close. I should probably get to setting it up since Christmas is approaching faster than I'd like. Of course being on Pinterest gets ideas flowing, but there is never enough time to complete my ideas before the holidays! Here are some super creative Christmas trees that would be so much fun to do!

DIY tree out of wood with some simple lights.

Driftwood Christmas tree. Probably a favorite of mine.

Tree out of books and some lights.

Tree out of reclaimed wood. This one is on Etsy and I'm in love. How unique is this one?!
And it is on top of a pallet, even better.

This tree is out of recycled cardboard. Simple and fun!

Glass bottle tree. Think of all the colorful bottles you could find for this one.

Wrought Iron Christmas Tree.

Modern Tree out of boxes.

Love this one, just a ladder and some lights! Very neat.

And of course, an upside down tree. Love it! How fun.

Day 95 ~ Candy Cane S'mores

Pinterest Treat
Candy Cane S'mores

The best thing about Pinterest is finding SO many recipes to try. It's almost like there isn't enough days in the week to get every treat or meal you pinned, made. But lucky for me, I almost always pin the easiest treats! Plus I'm a sucker for s'mores or just chocolate in general :) Honestly who isn't?!

Ingredients

  • 16 graham crackers squares (8 crackers halved)
  • 16 big marshmallows
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 5 tbsp heavy cream
  • crushed candy cane

Set your oven to 300 degrees

Break the graham crackers in half and top with a marshmallow
Set in the oven for a few minutes, checking often. You want the marshmallows to get big and golden brown. Once they start smelling, you know they have gotten golden.

Melt the chocolate with the whipping cream, in 30 second intervals. Stirring between. I did 30 seconds twice. I put the chocolate in a plastic zip lock bag and snipped the edge so I could drizzle on top of the marshmallows without making a mess.

Crush your candy canes up.

Can you smell the marshmallows?! This was the best part.

Grab your chocolate and start to drizzle on the marshmallow.

Top with crushed candy cane and you are done! These are so tasty!!

Day 93 ~ DIY Magnets

DIY
~ GLITTER MAGNETS ~

Supplies needed :

-circular magnets
-glitter, color of your choice
-craft glue, I used martha stewart glittering glue since I was using martha stewart glitter
-gold spray paint or any color

supplies

spray each magnet with your spray paint. about 2-3 coats. make sure to spray the edges of the magnet as well. let them dry!

mid-dry sprayed magnet.  you can see I sprayed the edges.

grab your glitter glue or clear glue and have your glitter ready!

layer a good amount of glue on the top of the magnet.

here's the fun part, sprinkle that glitter on top before it dries!
I used my finger and dabbed the top so the glitter was sure to stick, then I sprinkled more glitter because lets be real, you can never have enough glitter.

here are the ones I finished! I used silver, red and green. Appropriate for this upcoming holiday :)
But you can choice any glitter color, Martha stewart has small ones in a large variety pack. There is so many to choose from. I want to make a few more in different colors for my fridge for after christmas. They just add a bit of sass to the fridge!

Here they are holding up so old favorite pictures of my daughter. Love how they turned out and how easy they were!

detail shots of the gold edge and glitter!

Day 92 ~ The Little Black Dress

The Little Black Dress

The story starts with  me purchasing this vintage couture dress  from a dealer in France.  No history came with it, I only knew it was gorgeous, from France, vintage and I would pay a lot to have it shipped..  Part of my fascination was it's unknown past, I would find myself day dreaming about parties it was worn to, the women that may have owned it, it was just such a lovely piece.

I wore the dress in our very first photo shoot with Studio B, marketing our vintage line..the dress just made you feel fancy...  During a day of rearranging the dress made it in our back room along with some other vintage pieces..  I felt that perhaps it was just meant to be mine, but hadn't yet made my final decision quite yet..  I wasn't working the day it sold, but I believe the bride-to-be specially asked for the dress or perhaps she saw it in one of our portraits at the store.  Never the less, she bought it and yes it tugged at my heart, but after seeing her engagement pictures, I felt that the dress was meant to be her's, and now has it's own story here in the U.S.

Italy Ava Photo Shoot with Studio B

Hello!

I just wanted to share some of my engagement pictures with the dress that I bought from Italy Ava.  The dress looks so beautiful in all the pictures and it was just what I was looking for to fit our vintage themed engagement pictures (and wedding).  I have attached the pictures and they were all taken by B. Photography in Marshall.

Thanks Italy Ava!
